Modified Bitumen Roofing Services in Estes Park, CO
Modified bitumen is an asphalt-based membrane reinforced with polymers to improve flexibility and durability. It performs well in climates with significant temperature variation, making it a solid choice for mountain applications. We install it using a torch-applied method, which fuses sheets into a single continuous membrane for a strong, waterproof seal. It can be installed in sections, which is useful for phased repairs or budget-conscious projects.

What is modified bitumen?
In essence, modified bitumen membranes is a combination of oxidized asphalt particles that are then altered to a large level with a polymer such as styrene-butadiene-styrene or atactic polypropylene. These unique chemical characteristics give this membrane many different intense self-healing qualities that let it supply a water-resistant roof that simply will not be beaten for durability or strength. Recent tests and research suggests that torch applied modified bitumen applications offer higher bond strength and durability compared to hot mop applications in addition to other cold glue applications.
Hot Welding Torch Applications
To achieve the optimal hot welding service, our skilled roofing technicians will achieve optimal results by using an open flame torch approach that is powered by hot air welding devices. This method of fusing multiple sheets of modified bitumen into one, singular membrane results in a high-quality roofing system that has high resistance and is extremely durable.
